Our Lineage

The Goju Ryu Tradition - An Unbroken Chain of Masters

What is Goju Ryu?

Goju Ryu, meaning "Hard-Soft Style," is one of the most respected and traditional forms of karate. This ancient martial art combines powerful, linear techniques (Go - Hard) with flowing, circular movements (Ju - Soft).

The style emphasises breathing techniques, close-range fighting, and the development of both physical strength and mental discipline. Goju Ryu practitioners learn to adapt like water - soft when necessary, hard when required.

Our dojos maintain the authentic teachings passed down through generations of masters, ensuring that every student at both our Strathfield North and Carlingford locations receives the pure, traditional knowledge that has been preserved for over a century.
